Elena's introduction to yoga came when she was just 16, through a job at the Institute of Holistic Yoga in Miami, as an assistant to the founder. After cultivating a personal yoga practice for decades, Elena finally deepened her studies in her first 200-hour teacher training program through YogaWorks and her second 200-hour teaching certificate in Hatha Vinyasa. Initially this pursuit was intended for self-exploration and enrichment, but after having spent 10 years as an educator in the private and public sectors, when Elena finally followed her calling to teach yoga, she was transformed. She resigned from the corporate world, and dove into the yoga world, heart-first. She continues her graduate work in Liberal Studies at the University of Miami, complementing her undergrad degrees in the interdisciplinary studies of Psychology, English Literature and Art, and is a dedicated advocate of community outreach. She has a wealth of knowledge to share, and teaches meditation and yoga at community/education centers and correctional facilities. She leads her classes with grace and a well-honed understanding of what each student needs as inspiration, focusing on integrating breath, alignment and ultimately yoga into life.
