From a very young age, Hindy has been interested in health and fitness, both of the body and mind. As a child in her native country of Panama, her parents introduced her to Buddhism, which piqued an interest in the subject that has never waned. In 1998, she became an ACE-Certified Health and Fitness Trainer, and in 2000 she was certified as a Reiki practitioner, and began her formal study of yoga. With her background in Mahayana Buddhism, Hindy has learned that the mind is easier to quiet once the body has been awakened through rhythmic, intelligent movement. As a mother of three, she has a profound understanding of the combined powers of encouragement and patience, and puts these virtues to use in her yoga classes, where she expertly blends a strong vinyasa practice with Buddhist and yogic philosophy, and guided meditation. Her classes are challenging, centering and comforting.
