Maya's love for yoga began with her very first class, when she discovered that it helped her to cope with the stress of being an individual therapist for child victims of sexual abuse. She turned to yoga in order to recover her personal strength, and by maintaining a dedicated practice, yoga slowly helped her to reclaim her light. Through her extensive training in the Fluidus Method with Jason Lawner and Carlos Sanchez, Maya learned to communicate the benefits of traditional yoga in an accessible way, and to use optimal postural alignment as an opportunity to practice meditation through movement. In her classes, she invites her students to move, breathe and explore in ways that foster comfort in every experience. She is proof that yoga promotes both emotional and physical well-being, and her goal as a yoga teacher is to share this form of healing with others.
