Anamargret Sanchez is among Miami's most delightful, experienced, and beloved yoga instructors. She’s been blessed to study with many respected teachers, including Rod Stryker (founder of Para Yoga®), Manorama (founder of Sanskrit Studies), T.K.V. Desikachar, Leslie Kaminoff, Marlysa Sullivan, and Judith Hanson Lasater, to name a few. Before her foray into yoga, she was an actor and performance artist in NYC. Her debut was with world-renowned performance artist Carmelita Tropicana, at the historic Dixon Place. She co-founded the performance group Cocofrío with José Muñoz and Rebecca Sumner-Burgos, and also wrote and performed one-woman shows. Besides doing stage work she also did film and TV work… but that’s another story. Once Anamargret fell in love with yoga, she never looked back.
In 2003, Anamargret was initiated into the Himalayan Tantric lineage by her Guru Yogarupa Rod Stryker, and is a Level 2 certified Para Yogini. She’s a member of the faculty at The Himalayan Institute and is part of Yoga International Magazine’s online yoga program. She’s a certified Relax & Renew Restorative Yoga trainer, and a Four Desires trainer as well. She is Cofounder of the Enhanced Healing Yoga Studio, and also founded Daily Offering Yoga Studio (both located in Miami's Upper East Side). She cohosts YOGAMI, a Miami podcast which focuses on "yoga and stuff." As part of her commitment to selfless service, Anamargret also founded the Legion Park Community Yoga class, East Miami's most successful and long-running yoga outreach effort.
Anamargret is known for her uplifting approach to life and yoga, and she has the experience and compassion to guide her students safely on the transformative journey of yoga, pranayama, meditation and philosophy. She makes multi-dimensional healing accessible for people with a wide array of concerns: raw beginners, seasoned practitioners, seniors and other seekers alike. Her classes are grounding, challenging and fun, and she creates space for students to shine in their own light.
Anamargret is an avid traveler and reader, and happily leads meditation courses, group and private yoga classes, workshops, retreats and teacher training programs, in addition to her regular local yoga schedule.
