Joanne has dedicated her life to movement exploration: she had a satisfying career in dance performance and choreography for 30 years, and has taught yoga since 2005. She has studied locally (Ashtanga with Rossella Rossi, Marisa Gallardo and Day Christensen, and Anusara with the beloved Peter Barber) and has also trained with Jill Rapperport (in Yoga ED. for grades K-12). In addition to that, she studies the Yoga Sutras and philosophy with David Andrew, and practices the Ashtanga Vinyasa Method with Tim Miller and Scot Hendricks, among others. Joanne is committed to a balanced lifestyle, and every day she faithfully intertwines her love of nature and movement in the form of daily walks, admiring beautiful sunsets and dancing. She finds that this, combined with a daily yoga practice, brings peace of mind and stability to her life. She's passionate about spreading the benefits of yoga to others, especially those seeking their true essence, and particularly enjoys introducing yoga to teens. She has a gift for communicating her love of fluid movement and her passion for overall health, and leads her classes with grace and compassion, so that everyone feels welcome.
